Design & Engineering

During the design and engineering stages of a project there is always a need to provide station layouts with primary and secondary equipment dimensions and sizing with a fair amount of details.
The first sets of layouts are usually in preliminary stages; however they must be supplied as quickly as possible. Many of these layouts are used as civil guide inputs and are quite crucial for site execution and installation schedules.
Our engineers can design, review, verify and comment in great detail on layouts where primary and secondary equipment needs to be installed.
Using the latest CAD tools, we can supply layouts that are detailed, contain precise dimensions, and include all of the necessary installation details with manufacturer catalogue information and design guides.
Overall Site Layouts
Overall site layouts can provide a plethora of crucial information with regards to the primary equipment dimensions, overall building dimensions, general building layouts and overall site dimensions.
Earthing Design & Layouts
Grounding network of any station is as good as the ground grid that was installed prior to the installation of the primary equipment and construction of the buildings. We can provide grounding grids for below and above grounding of primary and secondary equipment with installation details and calculations proving the integrity of the grid design.
Power Cable Routing & Support Layouts
We can supply power cable routing designs with adequate power cable supports from 0.4kV to 400kV power cables for any station.
Cable Tray Routing Design
Grouping and organizing low voltage control cables can be a daunting task, especially in open terminal substations. However, we can provide detailed cable tray routes along with the cable tray designs and infill reports. These layouts can be used with the low voltage cable schedules to determine the exact cable lengths and cable routes.
Lightning Protection Layouts
Today we have more and more equipment that is sensitive to voltage variations or surges. Therefore lightning protection standards have been updated in order to provide more details as to what must be protected and to what degree, especially the equipment that is installed inside the buildings.
We can provide detailed lightning protection layouts, calculations and installation details for exterior and interior equipment, along with coordinated surge protection devices.
